Importance Of Formal and Informal Research methods in Gaining Information
Formal and Informal Research method are used in many ways by different types of organisations in different sectors of the economy.
Formal Research method's use was very less in the past. The reason could be the less availability of resources, formal research takes a lot of time. With the passage of time the organisations came to know about the importance of formal research. As by this time period many inventions had taken place to make formal research easy. One of the examples of this can be electronic databases. These inventions reduced the use of paper in formal research, that's why most the the researchers started giving preference to this research because it always provides accurate and exact information to the researcher.
Informal Research was used widely in the past. That was so because Informal research takes less time as compared to Formal Research. With the new inventions the use of informal research is also started reducing. The first and the foremost drawback of informal research is that i does not provide us the exact information. This is called secondary information as the researchers itself does not work to find the information, he/she has to depend on the resources which has already been founded by someone else. It will help us if we want quick information.

Time, Cost and required skills
The first and the foremost reason for the use of informal research in past is that formal research is time consuming. Most of the researchers are dissatisfied with formal research because a lot of time is needed to do this whereas on the other hand informal research is fast and time consuming. But with the passage of time people and researchers are becoming able to know the importance of formal research as formal research provides us accurate information than informal.Formal research method surveys are expensive from that of informal research. There is a lot of paper work involved in formal research as it is a primary information. On the other hand informal research consist of secondary information and only a little bit paper work is involved in it.
The person who is doing formal research is required to have various skills like answering on the spot, leadership qualities etc. so that he can do his research in a proper way. Whereas in informal research a person requires less qualities and skills as compared to the person doing formal research.

VARIOUS METHODS TO JUDGE INFORMAL METHOD
Informal research is a idea of getting a quick feed back of the peoples response to a particular idea or action.
This is asking a various group of people orally about their ideas, seeing their reactions to a particular situation like we can take a example of a pizza store like if we want to increasing the store timings then in a next few days days we will come to know about various comments or about the thinking of the people to that. We will see that customers will also have a great impact on our business. We will come to know about thoughts of the persons who are working in the pizza store. With this we will get a lot of useful information through which we can increase our sales.
The another think which we can do to make informal research helpful to us is that we can interview various people one by one by asking various short questions about a particular topic. We should make it sure that information is free of any kind of bias and that information should be free of any kind of personal concert. we should do this to at-least 25 people and than we should judge their views.
